Saint Archangel Gabriel

Archangel Saint Gabriel the embodiment of Wisdom.
Commission prompt is Joshua 1:9: Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, or discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Gabriel is both a messenger among the archangels, and a general over armies of Angels.
Gabriel’s composition is in accordance with Byzantine Iconagraphical Canon geometry overlaid upon a photo reference. The symbol of the Red Jasper Mirror with an X on it, as the first letter in Greek of Christ’s name, represents how we can use Wisdom to self reflect, and see dimly in the mirror to our constituents. In our self reflection, we can compare ourself to an Ideal form of embodiment of spirit in human flesh, in this case, Christ. The Red Jasper acts as a protective guide in our self assessments.
In respect to Laurence Caruana’s ideas of entering through the image, this ground is fashioned into a geometric oval, yonic in nature. We enter into Life with access to Wisdom granted to us, we have the ability to self reflect and act in accordance with the Laws of the Universe. In our passage through life, through the image to its depths, we are surrounded my Mystery, interlocking, interpenetrating. The background symbolic geometry is an arabesque design called the Breath of the Compassionate. I took this 2d design and quite honestly laboriously rendered it in perspective form with the use of compass and ruler. After the beauty, magnificence, and wonder of Life, we approach the blackness of transition, of our eventual Death. Joshua 1:9 is written to instill strength and faith during the greatest transition and mystery we will face, Our Death. Finally, We reach the dome of the passage, adorned with foliage, again in Yonic fashion ushering our exit from the image, from life, welcoming us blissfully into our next stage of the Great Mystery.

Current explorations in design, and content.

Design taught by Adam Williamson in 2024 from a Study of an Arabesque design. Design constructed with ruler and compass. I proceeded to develop the colors in accordance with how I have noticed lunar rays to sequence. This sequence utilizes color theory principles, and the phenomenon of after image color alterations.

Below, is an alternative preponderance, and muse for several years. I have studied an extensive text of Aizen myoo by Roger Goepper. It covers their etymology, poetic symbology, use through out time, and in ritual, and their esoteric qualities and functions.
I have stylistically superimposed an ancient model of Aizen myoo and Fudo myoo double headed upon symbolic geometric skeletal framework. I really got creative with this one, following strings of synchronicities and alternating between straight lines from vectors and following the arch of the compass. There exist multiple ratio harmonies, and rhyming geometric nested compositions.

The underlayed geometry gives backbone to the overarching function of the content, it forms a poetic basis of reasoning for our beloved entity.

I find this to be hilarious. The goose with a monkey on its back, priceless. And that pervy Parrot watching a gorilla bathe.. A fun sojourn with my friend, and mentor, Muscogee Medicine Man John Winterhawk.
